Arrighetti reports on results of current surveys and work in the Casentino area (Apennine valley in Arezzo), where stratigraphic readings of buildings reveal instabilities and restorations related to possible, and sometimes specific, seismic events. The research conducted so far indicates that seismic events have been more frequent than previously supposed. The article focuses on three structures (the churches of Santa Maria at Buiano, Sant’Antonino at Socana, and San Martino at Vado) in which several construction and reconstruction phases are identified and can be linked to significant seismic events.
