Résumé

Anglais

Diosono reports that excavations at the site of Villa San Silvestro in Cascia (Perugia) in the years 2006-12 brought to light evidence of two earthquakes, one in 99 BC and another in AD 443. Both were followed by reconstruction. After 99 BC there was extensive monumentalising of the public area, while after AD 443 mountain village was replaced with simpler structures. Julius Obsequens 46 records that a temple at Nursia was ruined by an earthquake in 99 BC, and the temple at Villa San Silvestro (probably dedicated to Hercules) shows that the structure was refaced and raised and a new cult statue installed.
