    Anglais

Guido Giglioni studies the place of imagination in Bacon’s and Descartes’ works in order to compare their points of view. Because imagination is a prism between the world and the mind, Bacon considered that it is an obstacle to knowledge acquisition. On the contrary, Guido Giglioni insists on the positive role played by imagination in Descartes’ philosophy, and the freedom of the mind it implies. H. V.
