Information under its various shapes, communication and their related notions have now become the key-concepts of our representation of the world and of ourselves. However, more than a mere scientific concept, the notion of communication, born in the bosom of what we called cybernetics, has gradually been associated with a social project including transparancy and the free movement of information. This thesis makes an analysis of the ways in which information and communication have become the keystones of a new representation of the world and the values of a society in a state of crisis. It determines the consequences and the limits of such a representation and its overcoming by studying complexity.
